OUR UNITED INITIATIVES

NationWorks engages and leverages the Nation United Foundation network of parents and partners to find internship, job shadowing and mentorship opportunities in various industries for graduating high school seniors and college-age Nation Ambassadors. The goal of NationWorks is to help student-athletes build their resume, gain meaningful professional experience and select the right career path.

Nation United Ambassadors can experience professional assignments to build and demonstrate skills while exploring a variety of career paths. NUF is excited to provide employers with opportunities to engage highly-motivated Nation United student-athletes on short-term, professional assignments.

Lacrosse is a game of constant movement, which is essential to being healthy. The Develop Your Game Initiative allows NUF to coordinate opportunities for NU Lacrosse student-athletes to serve as lacrosse ambassadors, role models, clinicians and coaches.

These opportunities include NUF-sponsored events like the Free Develop Your Game Clinics hosted during NUL summer and winter tournaments.  In addition, working with local community-based programs to design and coordinate NU-branded Practice Takeover and Sideline Takeover events, provides unique opportunities for NUL Ambassadors to participate in transformative experiences by serving as guest coaches, mentors and change-agents in the sport.

CAMPS & CLINICS

NUF offers free developmental camps and clinics designed to help youth ages 6-12 develop fundamental lacrosse skills.  The sessions are lead by trained coaches and clinicians who are assisted by NU high school and college age Ambassadors.

PRACTICE TAKEOVER

NUF works with local youth lacrosse programs to coordinate opportunities for NU Ambassadors to serve as guest coaches during predetermined practices.

SIDELINE TAKEOVER

After participating in a Practice Takeover, NU Ambassadors may be offered the opportunity to join the same youth lacrosse program’s staff as a guest coach during a future game or tournament.

CAMP TAKEOVER

High school seniors and college-age NU Ambassadors are offered the opportunity to serve as coaches and clinicians during overnight lacrosse camps hosted by affiliated programs.

Open to all members of the lacrosse community, WSI is rooted in a change management model adapted to help ensure sustainable progress in diversity, equality, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in the sport. Participants are taking the initiative to serve as catalysts for developing a lacrosse culture that firmly opposes discrimination in all its forms in the sport of lacrosse.

Nation United Foundation aims to eradicate harmful acts of racism, discrimination and harassment in sports through collaboration and  awareness.
